This is probably more of a winter dish…but sometimes comfort food is good in the summer as well. It was a bit chilly the other night so I decided to whip up something a little bit wintery. Normally I reserve using beer for lamb or beef, but this is surprisingly tasty.

Boil your pasta. While the pasta is boiling, chop your tomatoes in half and the pancetta into small chunks. In a seperate frying pan, fry up the pancetta and the tomatoes until they’re hot (don’t over do it, keeping the tomatoes whole is part of the fun). Once the pasta is boiled drain the pasta and return it to your pot. Add in the ricotta, the juice of the lemon, the parseley and the tomatoes and pancetta. Season to taste, stir and serve. Easy!

The team at Forkd released a whole bunch of new features today, including the tag brush which is a personal favourite of mine. In addition to all of the new features you’ll also find that Forkd is now completely open and invites are no longer necessary to sign up (but that shouldn’t stop you from inviting your friends). So what else is new? I’ll let David one of the chefs from the Forkd test kitchen explain…

David says:

Activity Panel - You’ll find it on the home page when you log in. Now we’ll tell you interesting things that have happened to your recipes and your favourite chefs’ recipes.

Feeds – We now aim to feed you in more ways than one. We’ve added RSS feeds to the activity page, everyone’s recipes and your favourite chefs’ recipes so you can keep an eye on what’s happening through your favourite feed reader.

Change Message - When you change someones recipe by forking it and editing it, you can now add a short description of what you have done and why.

Blog to Wordpress – Now you can blog your recipes to your Wordpress blog, too. – YAY! Now i won’t have to cut and paste!

People Search – The Forkd community is growing. You can now search through the chefs by name.

Tag Brush – We’ve enabled the Tag Brush on your recipes to make it easier for you to add tags (because tags are good). What does it do? Why not try it out?

Show off your culinary genius at http://www.forkd.com

The Forkd crew have been very busy over the last few weeks putting together another release. We’re getting very close to opening this up to the public.

Here are the new features originally posted on the Forkd blog:

You can now post your Forkd recipe to Blogger. Just click Blog It at the top of a recipe and follow the instructions. See the help for more details. We will be adding new platforms soon. (Wordpress, Wordpress!)

Although we love Flickr, we realise not everyone has an account there (or want to have lots of photos of food in it.) You can now upload photos directly to Forkd too.

There’s a search form on every page now.

We’ve changed the way that the People pages work. You can now browse through the full list of everyone on Forkd if you are curious, or filter them based on your contacts as before.

There have also been a few bug fixes here and there. Hey, no-one’s perfect.

We always need more beta testers and if you want an invite leave a message in the comments and I’ll make sure you get one.
