Leslie’s Oatmeal raisin cookies

On a recent visit from our friend Leslie, we learned that she was on the look out for good oatmeal cookie recipe. The funny thing was that she was the one who gave us this recipe about 10 years ago. Needless to say we just passed the recipe back, reuniting her with her long lost cookie recipe.

- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tea spoon cinnamon
- 1 tea spoon baking soda
- ½ tea spoon salt
- ½ tea spoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1-2 cups of raisins
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream the butter, eggs, water, brown sugar and vanilla. In a seperate bowl sift together sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, baking powder and ground cloves. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and then fold in the oats and raisins.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.

The cookies are really nice, great flavor. Only thing is, be sure to put in 2 cups of raisins. I only did 1 cup and it wasn’t enough.
